Rowendale History
I had my first show dog bought for me in 1981 at the age of 15. A lovely Brindle & White Boxer called Keelby. We went onto breed and show several quality Boxers. Winning a Reserve CC at Southern Counties with Marbelton Blind Date. We had numerous wins at Crufts and other major Championship Shows with Rowendale Naughty But Nice, Rowendale Too Nice For Words and Marbelton Box of Delights at Rowendale.
However, my true love was a Bulldog. So in 1989, I mated 3 Boxer Bitches and with the proceeds bough a lovely Bulldog bitch. She was bred by Mrs Margarette Hazelman, bought from Mr Rob Harris. Petworth Passion Puzzle at Rowendale 'Lily' as she was known was a gorgeous Red & White standard size bitch. Sired by CH Storming Passion of Ocobo and Dam Petworth Polly Perkins she took the show ring by storm. Winning 4 Best in Shows, 7 Best Puppy in Shows and 6 Reserve CC's all before 18 months of age.
Unfortunately a leg injury took her out of the ring. She had 1 litter of puppies consisting of 6 males. Lily stayed with us for 1 week short of 12 years, we loved her very much and still miss her till this day. She spent her life snoring on the settee!
We bought another bitch she was Brindle & White called Shy Matilda at Rowendale, another successful Championship show winner. Daisy is behind all our stock today. She was the mother of Rowendale Fancy Man, Rowendale Money Talks and Rowendale Goldie Locks, and grandmother to the famous Champions; Eng & Am Champion Rowendale Rum Truffle and Champion Rowendale Brandy Truffle.
We have had many good bulldogs, but the icing on the cake has to be Eng & Am Champion Rowendale Rum Truffle with Bollglade. Sired by Brampton Mr Douglas and dam Rowendale Goldie Locks. THE ONLY BULLDOG IN HISTORY to have won Best in Show at 4 General Championship Shows winning 17 CC's and Bulldog of the Year.
We have also won first at Crufts with our French Bulldog, Rowendale Dolly Mixture and are currently campaigning Rowendale Multum in Parvo (Ducan the Pug), who is winning at championship shows, qualify for Crufts 2006.
